New York-based Amogy and South Korean-based LOTTE Fine Chemicals (LFC) have signed an MoU to accelerate the supply of renewable ammonia to ammonia-to-X solutions. LFC is already a leader in ammonia distribution and infrastructure in Asia, and has achieved “Korea-firsts” in commercial-scale import of renewable molecules, and in ammonia bunkering (port-to-ship), among other relevant accolades. Amogy’s proprietary ammonia cracking technology enables the efficient conversion of ammonia into hydrogen, supporting both high-purity hydrogen production and ammonia-to-power generation in stationary, distributed, and marine applications.
Broadly, the partnership is targeting three applications across South Korea:
- Ammonia to hydrogen – Amogy’s ammonia cracker technology distributed across LFC’s domestic hydrogen refueling infrastructure supplied by internationally produced renewable ammonia
- Ammonia to power – Amogy’s ammonia power generation fuel cells and internal combustion engines distributed across LFC’s ammonia supply chain in commercial and community settings
- Ammonia for marine bunkering – vessels utilising Amogy’s ammonia to power engines supplied by renewable ammonia stored at LFC’s terminal at Ulsan Port
As Korea continues to build out its clean ammonia and hydrogen infrastructure, partnerships that connect upstream supply with downstream technology are essential to accelerating deployment. LOTTE Fine Chemical’s ammonia infrastructure, paired with our ammonia-to-hydrogen and ammonia-to-power technology, gives us a strong foundation to advance hydrogen refueling, distributed power, and marine applications across the region.

LFC has built the infrastructure to import, store, and supply ammonia safely and at scale, including the world’s first ship-bunkering supply of ammonia. This collaboration with Amogy allows us to extend that infrastructure into new downstream applications, supporting Korea’s transition to a clean ammonia and hydrogen economy.
