China-based Shuangliang Group (SLG) announced that it has delivered sixteen of its electrolysis units to ACME for the first stage of its renewable ammonia project in Duqm, Oman. The first overseas project to be powered by SLG’s technology, the 100,000 tons per year ammonia project already has full offtake secured by Yara Clean Ammonia, and first deliveries anticipated next year.
In mid-2023, ACME Group secured two key loans from REC Limited, one of India’s largest green infrastructure financial firms. $2.5 billion will support the first phases of ACME’s “round the clock” renewable power projects in Odisha and Tamil Nadu, powering renewable hydrogen and ammonia production for its Indian projects, while $500 million will fully finance the first phase of the Duqm project.
Speaking in our Project Features webinar series in early 2023, ACME confirmed that TÜV Rheinland had already pre-certified renewable ammonia to be produced at Duqm, and that KBR’s ammonia synthesis and thyssenkrupp’s ammonia storage technologies would be installed.
