Pilbara Ports is working to establish the Pilbara Clean Fuel Bunkering Hub, enabling port users to bunker locally-produced low carbon ammonia as a marine fuel. Our goal is for 100 per cent of bulk export vessels departing the Pilbara to be powered by clean fuels. This presentation analyses some of the findings from our initial workstreams, including the penalty costs for the Pilabar export fleet under the new IMO emission pricing framework, fuel demand forecasts, and anchorage options. The presentation coincides with the release of Pilbara Ports Authority’s new Clean Fuel Bunkering Hub Strategy.
