Curious about what we’ve covered before in our conference programs? Explore a highlights wrap from Ammonia Energy APAC in Perth 2025.
Plus speakers TBA from:

Envision has secured a “rigorous suite of high-standard certifications” (including ISCC EU, ISCC PLUS, and RFNBO compliance), and bunkered COSCO’s Yuantuo 1 tugboat with ammonia fuel from Chifeng at nearby Dalian Port in July 2025. Envision has eyes on European and global markets for its renewable molecules, and has already demonstrated a door-to-door supply chain to deliver renewable ammonia to customers, with its first delivery (including maritime logistics) to LOTTE Fine Chemical in Ulsan, South Korea. A recent study collaboration with WinGD found that renewable ammonia marine fuel will outperform other options on cost by 2050, and more exciting announcements are expected from Envision in the coming weeks and months.
Envision Energy Global VP Frank Yu joins us in Brisbane to explore progress, outline future plans & ambitions, and present details of this growing supply chain in China and APAC.

PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) CEO & President Director Rahmad Pribadi joins us in Brisbane to explore progress, outline future plans & ambitions, and outline why Indonesia is such an attractive, long-term prospect for decarbonised ammonia in the APAC region.
Training seafarers and shore-side workers in the safe use of marine ammonia fuel is a critical, rate-limiting step that will affect how fast we can deploy the solution. In places like Singapore, Malaysia, India (and even at the International Maritime Organisation itself) syllabuses and courses have been developed, and the first cohorts graduated.
Now, thanks to a joint government partnership between Australia and Singapore (the ASLET program), the Australian Maritime College, CSIRO and TasRex are preparing to put its first cohort through a five-day ammonia safety training course for port and ship crew, including live release demonstrations. The first cohort is part of the development cycle of the Ammonia Safety Training Program (ASTP), which is being developed through ASLET.
In this workshop session, leaders from the development of the training course will present key parts of the syllabus, explore the challenges in training seafarers in the use of new fuels, and explain how the safety & toxicity challenges of ammonia as a fuel are being met and overcome.
Featuring Tony Beckett (Lecturer Emergency Response Programs, Australian Maritime College), David Harris (Chief Research Consultant, Commonwealth Science & Industry Research Organisation), and John Mott (Director, TasRex).
Technology innovation is critical to the ammonia energy transition, and this session will feature new and existing players in the hydrogen and ammonia production space. Explore:
Featuring Facet Amtech, Airbridge, Linde, PlasmaLeap.
As the push towards marine ammonia fuel continues, various global ports are putting their plans into action. The presence of ammonia in these ports – either as a bunker fuel or as a large-scale import/export commodity – requires changes like new infrastructure or retrofits, new training for seafarers and shore-side staff, rigorous safety and risk assessments, and more. The transition appears daunting, but a series of leaders have already overcome some of these foundational steps and are accelerating plans.
This session features first-mover ports in APAC – including Newcastle and Pilbara – who are already integrating ammonia fuel and exports into their future plans. We also feature ports a few steps further back in their ammonia journey who are committed to decarbonisation, and whose past experience handling ammonia opens potential future pathways. Join us to explore the journey to deploying ammonia at-scale in ports, and how decarbonisation challenges are being overcome.
Featuring Matthew Bowdler (Principal Sustainability Advisor, Pilbara Ports Authority), Port of Newcastle. Moderated by Jenny Ruffell-Smith (formerly Strategic Projects Lead, Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping).
Ammonia bunkering is fast becoming a reality in APAC. A series of high-profile demonstrations featuring a variety of vessel sizes (from tugs to small and mid-sized gas carriers) is helping pave the way to operations and port readiness.
At last year’s conference we explored technical feasibility, operational preparedness and safety factors for bunkering in the Pilbara, and this year we will move the conversation forward to focus on commercial aspects for ammonia bunkering: infrastructure upgrades/retrofits, business models, customer considerations, securing fuel volumes, regulatory frameworks, and more.
Moderated by Leigh Holder (Partner, Hamilton Locke).
Onsite in the Soleil Bar, Rydges South Bank.
NH3 Clean Energy (nh3ce) is an Australian company focused on reducing carbon emissions by providing clean energy solutions. nh3ce is advancing its flagship clean ammonia project “WAH2” which is focused on supplying low-emission ammonia to the high demand growth Asian market.
Building on progress presented at last year’s Perth conference, NH3 Clean Energy CEO Stephen Hall returns with an update on NH3’s flagship project: WAH2 in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Learn more about partnerships with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, ITOCHU, and the recent announcement that Linde will execute FEED work for the project, looking ahead to FID at the end of this year.
Technology innovation is critical to the ammonia energy transition. Following on from our production focused session on Day One, this session features utilisation technology developers – fuel cells, engines, and more. Explore:
Featuring CSIRO Newcastle, Cavendish Renewable Technology.
Return coach transfers have been organised from Rydges South Bank, with tour participants leaving in one group at 9AM sharp, and returning around 1PM.
On arrival, participants will be split into smaller groups and shown around the site, as well as hearing updates from research leaders.
When registering, you can RSVP to this tour, and your attendance will be confirmed at the event in June.
Join hosts Energy Gang Brisbane on Wed 17th for a free networking session for conference attendees
For attendees still in Brisbane after the industry site visit, we have an additional networking opportunity available.
“Energy Gang Brisbane” – a monthly get-together of energy professionals who work in Brisbane – will host an informal networking catch-up on the afternoon of Wednesday 17 June, the final day of Ammonia Energy APAC 2026. Head to Riverland Brisbane (a beautiful riverside bar with stunning views, located next to Brisbane’s CBD) from 3PM.
This is an independent, community-led gathering designed to continue conversations from the conference and connect with others across ammonia and low carbon fuels, and the broader energy transition space.
No formal agenda — just a relaxed setting to meet, exchange ideas, and build meaningful connections. All conference attendees are welcome to attend, and will be sent a registration link via email.
