The million-tonne-per-year, $8.4 billion renewable hydrogen & ammonia production facility will be built near Al Muwaileh, Saudi Arabia. Project partner Air Products will act as EPC contractor, and has also secured exclusive ammonia offtake rights from NEOM for thirty years.

Offshore ammonia production in Greenland

H2Carrier and wind project developer Anori will jointly develop Greenland’s first commercial wind farm, which will power the offshore production of ammonia via H2Carrier’s P2XFloater™ vessels. The project could produce as much as 900,000 tonnes of ammonia per year, targeting export markets. H2Carrier also announced that Larsen & Toubro will design & construct the “topside” sections of the P2XFloater™ vessels in India, with the hulls to be built in Asia.

In Indian developments this week:
- Avaada Group and the Rajasthan state government will jointly develop a $5 billion, million-tonne-per-year renewable ammonia plant in the city of Kota.
- Multinational Larsen & Toubro has switched on a new renewable hydrogen plant for its Hazira manufacturing complex in Gujarat.
- Korean steelmaker POSCO and Greenko have signed an MoU to cooperate in green hydrogen and ammonia production in India.
- And at our recent Australia conference, IEEFA’s Kashish Shah outlined how renewable hydrogen & ammonia can relieve the burden of US$13 billion in subsidies paid every year to the fertiliser sector in India.
