Two potential consortia have been selected to develop and operate an ammonia power generation and bunkering pilot on Jurong Island, Singapore. Either Keppel Infrastructure or Sembcorp-SLNG will be selected to lead the project, which will feature a 60 MW, direct ammonia-fed gas turbine, linked to a 100,000 ton ammonia bunkering facility.
Singapore-based Aslan Energy Capital has acquired land in Sonora state for a solar-powered hydrogen and ammonia production project, feeding domestic requirements in Mexico. Also amongst Aslan’s portfolio is the ARUN Blue Ammonia project in Aceh Province, near the vital Strait of Malacca international shipping lane.
Sojitz and Kyushu Electric will offtake the full volume of ammonia production from the first phase of Sembcorp’s under-development production project in India, with the intention to supply various industrial customers in the Kyushu region of Japan. In more term sheet news, Avaada will supply renewable ammonia to Mysore, a distributor of ammonia to Indian customers.
