Australia, Germany launch joint H2Global auction

The governments of Australia and Germany have agreed to establish a bilateral H2Global tender, contributing €200 million each to a joint auction. The process will be similar to a recently-concluded pilot auction for long-term ammonia exports from Egypt to Rotterdam, and a just-launched Canadian scheme.

Envision: renewable production in Spain and Namibia

As part of a new agreement with the Spanish government, Envision Energy will develop a fully integrated green industrial park in Spain, producing key renewable technologies for renewable hydrogen projects in Europe. In Namibia, Envision and Zhero will collaborate on a 500,000 tons per year renewable ammonia plant, to be located near Walvis Bay.

Canada launches H2Global auction

The Canadian government will allocate up to CAD 300 million for hydrogen & derivative exports to Europe, via a H2Global auction scheme. This funding commitment is expected to be matched by the German government, with the tender process set to launch before the end of this year.

Updated PGS-12 code: Preparing for increased ammonia imports to the Netherlands

In our July episode of Project Features, we were joined by the Port of Rotterdam, OCI Global and Chane to explore current and future ammonia imports into Rotterdam. With significant ammonia import targets set for 2050, terminal projects are already underway in Rotterdam, including a four-phase expansion of OCI Terminal Europoort, and a new distribution hub from Chane. These developments will proceed according to a modern, updated set of guidelines for ammonia storage and handling in the Netherlands, known as PGS-12.
