With COP-27 in Sharm El Sheikh fresh in our minds, we turn our attention to ammonia developments in Egypt. Fertiglobe is an export-focused nitrogen fertilizer producer with facilities throughout the Middle East and northern Africa. Fertiglobe’s combined production capacity of urea and merchant ammonia is 6.5 million tonnes, and it leads the consortium developing a renewable ammonia-to-fertilizer project in Ain Sokhna, near the Suez Canal. The International Fertilizer Association (IFA) is a global fertilizer association, boasting membership of more than 400 entities, and last year cooperated with the International Energy Association (IEA) to publish the ‘Ammonia Technology Roadmap’.
To discuss the opportunities for renewable ammonia in Egypt, Tarek Hosny (Head of Investments and Projects, Fertiglobe) & Alzbeta Klein (CEO & Director General, IFA) will be joined in conversation by AEA Technology Manager Kevin Rouwenhorst.
