Amogy to deploy marine ammonia-to-power systems in Norway

Amogy will deploy its ammonia-to-power systems onboard electrical Platform Supply Vessels (ePSVs) for Norway-based Green Ships Invest. In the new ePSV design, ten of Amogy’s 200 kW ammonia-to-electrical power systems will be integrated and installed, providing 2 MW capacity. The vessels (to be operated by Bourbon Horizon) will also be equipped with conventional diesel generators as a failsafe. As well as the new ePSV design, Green Ships Invest will explore the use of Amogy’s technology onboard two additional vessel types.

The contract builds on an MoU signed last October. Indeed, Amogy has just signed a similar exploratory MoU with Itochu, and will explore the feasibility of installing its technology onboard Itochu-owned and operated vessels.
Partnership with W-Industries: fabrication of Amogy’s technology
W-Industries, a Texas-based engineering, technology, manufacturing, and construction specialist, will collaborate with Amogy to explore opportunities to scale the design and fabrication of Amogy’s ammonia-to-power technology, both as modularized and container-sized variants. The agreement includes the establishment of a joint commissioning and service-support option for future deployments of Amogy technology.
