Click to learn more. CertifHy has recognized the first three certification bodies to deliver its RFNBO scheme.
CertifHy has recognized the first three certification bodies – Vinçotte, TÜV SÜD, and TÜV Rheinland – to deliver the CertifHy EU RFNBO Voluntary Scheme. Audits conducted by these three bodies can now result in RFNBO-compliant hydrogen certification, required by the EU for issuing Proofs of Sustainability (POS), and to access market premiums linked to decarbonization policies in the Renewable Energy Directive. The three bodies were all required to enter into a formal partnership with CertifHy, and employ auditors certified through the CertifHy Academy.
The recognition of TÜV SÜD, TÜV Rheinland and Vinçotte signifies the readiness of the market to embrace robust and reliable certification, ensuring the integrity and transparency of sustainable hydrogen production.
Matthieu Boisson, Managing Director at CertifHy, in his organization’s official press release, 25 Mar 2025
CertifHy is committed to empowering auditors with the resources and expertise they need to navigate the evolving landscape of hydrogen and e-fuels certification. We work closely with certification bodies to streamline processes, mitigate risks, and ensure audits that are fair, efficient, and provide insightful feedback.
Pierre Krenn, Scheme Manager at CertifHy, in his organization’s official press release, 25 Mar 2025
Potential scheme users are encouraged to register and begin engaging with CertifHy. Services provided from the certification bodies will include:
- audits based on globally recognized standards, including ISO 17065 and ISO 14065.
- comprehensively evaluating production processes to confirm adherence to all scheme criteria.
- providing clear, factual reports on compliance and certification eligibility, including recommendations.
The news comes after CertifHy was officially approved by the European Commission late last year to issue Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO) certification.
