Stamicarbon to provide NX Stami technologies
The FertigHy consortium has awarded a feasibility study and pre-FEED contract to Stamicarbon for a new renewable ammonia and fertilisers plant to be constructed in France. As part of the agreement, Stamicarbon will provide its NX Stami Green AmmoniaTM and NX Stami Nitric AcidTM technologies for the project. The plant, which is scheduled to start construction in 2027, will produce 500,000 tons per year of low-carbon, nitrogen-based fertilisers.
We are delighted to be part of this groundbreaking project, which aligns perfectly with our commitment to pioneering sustainable fertilizer technologies. Our role in this project provides an opportunity to contribute towards improving global food security through low-carbon solutions.

Founding investors EIT InnoEnergy, RIC Energy, Maire Tecnimont, Siemens Financial Services, InVivo and Heineken launched FertigHy last August. Originally targeting Spain for the location of its first ammonia and fertiliser plant, the consortium will now turn its attention to France, utilising new build renewable energy and back-up grid power for the facility. Thanks to the high penetration of nuclear power, hydropower and wind power, France has one of the least carbon-intensive electricity grids in Europe.
