Poland-based developer Hynfra has signed a framework agreement with the government of Mauritania for a renewable project near the capital city Nouakchott, producing 100,000 tons per year of renewable ammonia from 2030.
Hynfra will lead a consortium of Polish and Japanese partners to develop a solid oxide electrolysis technology platform for the production of electrolytic hydrogen and ammonia, with a demonstrator to be opened in Poland next year.
Europe-based developers Hynfra and Yamna have signed agreements with the Andhra Pradesh state renewable energy agency for the development of two renewable mega-projects, totalling 2 million tons of ammonia production capacity and $6 billion in investments.
The pair have signed a supply agreement from Hygenco’s under-development, $2.5 billion renewable ammonia project in Gopalpur Port, Odisha. By establishing supply chains from India to Europe and Asia, the pair aim to capture a significant share of the developing global market for low-carbon ammonia.
At capacity, the Jordan Green Ammonia facility will produce between 100,000 – 200,000 tonnes of renewable ammonia per year, powered by 530 MW of solar energy. The ammonia produced will be used both locally and for export to the European market.
