Implementation Plan of C-free Ammonia Value Chain
We are targeting to start commercial use of Fuel Ammonia from around 2025 for power generation, industrial and maritime markets. There are number of potential supplies of Blue and Green Ammonia from Australia, North America and Middle East, and large potential markets in Japan as well as Asia. First phase of Fuel Ammonia market will be mix combustion in coal power plant with Blue Ammonia supply. Extensive market will be created, and large scale Blue and Green Ammonia supplies will be implemented. Green Ammonia Consortium: A Force for Ammonia Energy
Japan’s Green Ammonia Consortium, an industry body dedicated to building “a value chain from supply to use of CO2-free ammonia,” launched its Web site on December 5. The site features plenty of interesting content, but most significant may be the roster of members. Eighty seven companies, public organizations, and individuals are listed. Taken together they represent a significant force for ammonia energy implementation in Japan and beyond.

Ammonia, Key Green Energy for Decarbonization (2019 Australia Keynote)
Japanese R&D program SIP Energy Carriers developed technologies to utilize ammonia directly in energy sector. Those results prove ammonia is viable option of C-free fuel in power generation, industrial and maritime markets. We plan to start commercial use of C-free ammonia in the middle of 2020s.

On the Ground in Japan: Residential Fuel Cells
Last week Kaden Watch, a Japanese Web site for appliance news, reported that Tokyo Gas had delivered its 80,000th Ene Farm residential fuel cell system. This small news item, delivered by a niche media outlet, lifts a critical corner of the decidedly “big-tent” story of Japan’s strategy to develop a hydrogen-based energy economy. How the Ene Farm topic develops is likely to be a major factor in Japan’s ability to sustain its hydrogen vision -- and possibly a determinant of the role ammonia could play within it.
