Expanding the Market for Renewable NH3
Presentation

This report describes the market conditions for various projects using the Solid State Ammonia Synthesis (SSAS) Renewable NH3 process. We address the following activities: possible issues with the scale of the process, some schemes that induce a population to change fuel sources for their energy needs, financial requirements for the creation of new renewable energy sources and new SSAS plants. We discuss methods of monetization for producers, and some of the issues related to the risks of such monetization, and we suggest ways that Renewable NH3 can be a valuable investment as well as an energy source. The conclusion is…

Ammonia Economy – The Global Potential
Presentation

The development of the ammonia economy will depend on successful deployment of a range of new technologies in the context of the existing ammonia industry and the world’s many existing energy markets. This report will provide framework on: Supply/demand and status of the global ammonia industry. Plausible response of growth and prices in response to a giant new market in fuels. New incremental applications which may lead to ‘disruptive innovation’ and rapid takeoff for ammonia fuels. Barriers to takeoff.

Who's your Favorite Chemical?
Presentation

This paper provides an overview of the impressive attributes of NH3 as a fuel. NH3 is the closet thing to an ideal fuel due to its production flexibility, competitive cost, infrastructure cost/availability, efficiency, environmental performance, and safety. This year’s presentation will emphasize why NH3 is the best bridge fuel between fossil and renewable fuels and why it is relatively simple to make NH3 safe enough to meet the most stringent fuel safety standards.

Food Security via Clean Energy
Presentation

The talk will show why food security is as important as national security, and how the transition from brown NH3 to green NH3 (produced with renewable energy and without carbon) is necessary for food security. This transition will set the stage for green NH3 to be used for energy storage and then a fuel source.

Green Ammonia to Fuel International Security
Presentation

Ammonia has the potential to play an increasing role in international security for the US and its allies in global areas of interest. So far, analysis of ammonia for the US government and military has narrowly focused on its use as fuel for combat vehicles, including aircraft or ships, but there are far more vital roles it can play, to save resources and lives.

Using Local Green Energy and Ammonia to Power Gas Turbine Generators
Presentation

Beginning in the 1950s, a fundamental shift in the way information was electronically expressed and manipulated led to the “digital revolution” that has transformed — is still transforming — information systems and many major industries and that has given rise to the internet, social media, and instant very-low-cost communication (like this website). A good case can be made that a similar “revolution” is beginning — has already begun — to transform the energy systems upon which we all depend. This presentation will address the use of anhydrous (water-free) ammonia, NH3, as a realistic option for making a fundamental shift in…

A Hybrid Vehicle Powered by Hydrogen and Ammonia
Presentation

A partnership of Research and Industry entities has developed a fully working hybrid electric vehicle equipped with a 15 kW IC engine fuelled with liquid ammonia as a range extender of the lithium batteries pack on board. The entire vehicle powertrain (ie, the IC engine, the electric generator coupled with the engine, the electric motor, the electronics etc.) has been studied and designed. Regarding the IC engine, as is known, ammonia combustion is characterized by a high activation energy and a low flame velocity, therefore a small amount of hydrogen is requested as igniter and combustion promoter. The necessary amount…
