The AEA’s Ammonia Certification System has made steady progress since our 2024 annual conference, where we explored design decisions made in the development of the pilot system. In this session, we provide a full overview of the System as it enters pilot operations. Audience members will find out more about joining the pilot, more details about how the certificate registry will be used, and how the System can be utilized by companies along the ammonia value chain. The region is a hotbed of activity in the decarbonized ammonia and energy transition space, with project developers looking to leverage existing infrastructure, expertise and an experienced local workforce. This conversation features a number of organizations at the forefront of this regional movement. Join us on our opening afternoon to hear what makes the region an attractive prospect for developers, what local alliances & groups are doing to help streamline project development, and what future role Southeastern Texas and the wider Gulf Coast region can play as we move towards lower-carbon ammonia production.

The Hydrogen Council has released its first Global Hydrogen Compass report, a state-of-play look at the industry. Ammonia is currently the largest offtake sector for clean hydrogen, accounting for 43% of the 3.6 million tons per year of binding offtake secured to date. Policy and regulatory clarity will be key to locking in further offtake, and developing the impressive global project pipeline.
