On a calm summer’s day in the Port of Rostock, you are to step onto Carnival’s new cruise liner to embark on an island hopping experience across the Baltic. But it’s not only the Baltic scenery that’s special – this cruise liner has just fueled up with renewable ammonia at the Port, and your zero-carbon journey across the Baltic will be powered by ammonia fuel. This is the vision behind the GreenBalticCruising project.
To explore progress to date, Sebastian Prochnow (Rostock Port GmbH), Malte Zeretzke (Carnival Maritime GmbH), Dr. Donald Höpfner (Yara GmbH & Co KG) and Dr. Urs Vogler (DNV) joined AEA Maritime Director Sofia Fürstenberg Stott in conversation.
