AM Green Ammonia’s plans to use India’s Inter-state Transmission System to transfer renewable energy to its renewable ammonia plant in Kakinada have been approved and necessary upgrades funded by national authorities. Gentari will develop wind, solar and battery storage capacity to supply continuous power to the first phase of the project.

Offshore renewable ammonia production on the horizon
SwitcH2 Offshore and CorPower Ocean will develop a 300,000 tons per year offshore renewable ammonia production facility in Portugal, expected to become operational by 2029. Government support for ammonia-powered shipping in Japan, Korea
In Japan, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, in cooperation with the Ministry of the Environment will invest $212 million in the domestic manufacture of ammonia engines, fuel tanks and components. In Korea, the national Export-Import Bank has committed to supporting ammonia-fueled newbuilds.
