At the AEA, we’ve spent the past couple of years carefully tracking the progress of marine ammonia fuel. For our final episode of Maritime Ammonia Insights, we take stock of this progress, and ask what comes next. What are the key decision points coming up at the IMO in 2024? Who is working to demonstrate the use of ammonia fuel safely, and ticking off all the necessary boxes to get a vessel on the water? What gaps exist, and what do the big priorities need to be for the next year? Will the real-life use of ammonia fuel further allay doubts in people’s minds about whether it can be used safely, and how do we communicate with doubters in the maritime space?
To explore these questions and predict the path ahead, Sofia Fürstenberg Stott (Partner, Fürstenberg Maritime Advisory) and Conor Fürstenberg Stott (Partner, Fürstenberg Maritime Advisory) joined the AEA’s Julian Atchison in conversation.
