Lotte and GS Engineering & Construction have signed an MoU for the supply, transportation and storage of clean ammonia fuel for GS and Amogy’s ammonia-powered distributed power generation demonstration, due to be up-and-running next year. The container-sized system will be set up at the Yeongilman Industrial Complex in Pohang, featuring Amogy’s ammonia cracking technology, and hydrogen engines from HD Hyundai. Yeongilman is a major rechargeable battery manufacturing site in Korea.
In the future, we will expand cooperation to terminal construction and respond to the carbon-free power demand from data centers, as well as export industries such as secondary batteries and steel. Through this demonstration project with GS E&C, we aim to accelerate the transition to eco-friendly energy and contribute to achieving carbon neutrality.
Going forward, we will continue to strengthen our business competitiveness by securing diverse clean ammonia demand channels—including power generation fuel, marine fuel, and hydrogen carriers—toward building a “Multi-Channel Sales Platform” for the clean ammonia business.
