The State Power Investment Corporation’s “Hyglobal” brand for hydrogen and ammonia. Renewable ammonia produced in Da’an has been RFNBO-certified by ISCC and Bureau Veritas.
Jilin Electric Power’s renewable ammonia production plant in Da’an, northeast China, has been awarded “ISCC EU RFNBO Ammonia” certification, enabling entry into EU markets. Acting as a third-party certifier, Bureau Veritas confirmed that ammonia molecules produced at Da’an meet all requirements of the EU Renewable Energy Directive (RED III).
The project’s flagship product, “Hyglobal Green Ammonia,” is now officially recognized under the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) EU RFNBO scheme. This milestone reflects China’s strides in green hydrogen energy transition and fully complies with the European Union’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED III). With a 180,000-ton annual green ammonia facility, the project pioneers an “Electricity–Hydrogen–Ammonia” flexible control system, a technological breakthrough that reconciles the intermittency of renewable power with the steady-state demands of chemical production—offering a scalable solution for large-scale renewable energy integration. It has inked offtake agreements with energy companies in Europe, Japan, and South Korea, signaling growing international demand for China-made green ammonia and expanding the global reach of SPIC’s “Hyglobal” brand.

At the Da’an project, 700 MW of wind power and 100 MW of solar PV will be buffered by a 40 MW energy storage system, reportedly including solid-state hydrogen storage. The plant features a mixture of PEM and alkaline electrolysis, supplied by Chinese technology providers LONGi Hydrogen, SANY Hydrogen, Sunshine Hydrogen, and Perri Hydrogen Energy.
